Extremely light, well made, and much nicer than budget shooting bags
I'm not an expert on shooting bags, and the only one I've owned previously is a basic Birchwood Casey bag that is comparatively quite heavy. For my normal use at the range, where I'm only carrying equipment a short distance from the car, that weight has never bothered me.
This Buffalo Creek bag is a very different product. The first thing that stood out is the quality of the materials and workmanship. The waxed canvas feels substantial and durable, the stitching and overall construction look very good, and it feels like a noticeably more refined piece of gear than my inexpensive range bag. What is most impressive, though, is the weight. Mine weighs only about 236 grams, and despite that number not sounding especially dramatic on paper, a bag this size feels almost weightless in the hand. Compared with my old shooting bag, which weighs in at 2,992 grams, the difference is enormous. That makes this very appealing for any situation where you actually have to carry your gear a real distance. For hunting, hiking into a shooting location, field use, or any other situation where every extra pound matters, I can immediately see the advantage.
There is inevitably some tradeoff between weight and stability. A much heavier bag has more inertia and tends to stay planted on the bench more readily, while an ultralight bag can't rely on mass in the same way. For someone who shoots almost entirely from a fixed bench, the light weight may therefore be less important than it would be in the field. My first thought when I got this was that I want to take it hunting. For my purposes, this feels like a very well-executed lightweight shooting bag. The materials and craftsmanship are a substantial step up from the inexpensive bag I'm accustomed to, while the dramatic reduction in weight makes it much more attractive for any situation where portability matters.

Better than Caldwell at this price
I have the Caldwell setup similar to this, and I have to say I'm impressed by this. Out of the box the bags are pre filled with what feels like buckwheat seeds which gives it the win over anything you have to fill up yourself. Fits perfect into my range bag and isn't really heavy, so if you prefer sand you'll have to dump out the supplied buckwheat, and then fill it yourself. The rifle support front bag has what feels like alcantara in the center for the stock rest surrounded by cordura with what looks like double stich. It held the front of the stock rock steady. Better than I expected for difficult shots.
The rear "squeeze" bag is where this set really shines. Although filled with material what I first thought would be difficult to modulate, I was happy to find it was easy and very steady to control. For testing and regular use I will grab this set first because of the weight and quality alone. I don't know if I would use this daily for a gun range loaner, but for my once a week use it was more than steady and solid.

Amazingly light, slightly less stable than similar competitor
I'll start by saying I run an Armageddon Game changer bag for PRS. So this review, and the value I place on this bag come from that angle. First and foremost, this bag is the lightest forward bag I have ever seen/used. It is ridiculously light. It gave fairly decent stability, but it was slightly less "forming" when compared to the Game Changer. I feel that's the trade-off. Much much much lighter, but a little less stable. It's going to come down to personal preference if that makes it worth it. My transitions are slightly faster, but my splits were slightly slower.
That being said, if you don't have a bag yet, 100% buy one. This one is fantastic and I think you'll be very happy with it. I have found myself throwing this one in the range bag more than the Game Changer lately just because of how light it is. Comes with some wax for it. My only other complaint is that it doesn't have the option to strap to the rifle like the Game Changer does. Again, these are small complaints, this is overall a fantastic product.

Great shooting rests
I was immediately impressed with the quality of these shooting rests when I first pulled them form the shipping box. The quality of materials was evident and I haven't found any signs of a mis-stitch let alone an incomplete or weak seam. Being prefilled of course you'd see sand/gravel in the box when it arrives but these are absolutely solid. The black fabric you see as the actual shooting rest against your rifle has a softer texture that won't mar the surface of your rifle being a new custom job or a well preserved antique but still gives you the secure platform you expect. Should you ever decide you want to add or remove fill both bags have a folded over fill shoot sewn in that is sealed with wide Velcro and secured in place for easy access but surety against accidental leaks. The current fill looks to be crushed vermiculite or similar providing good weight without any hazards. Overall a great value from the quality and thinking about the amount of time these will get used.

Definitely worth buying a "prefilled" shooting bag
I definitely want to say that this is an excellent rifle rest. I really love how it comes pre-filled. A lot of the other brands do not and you have to fill it yourself. And I've purchased those before and I filled it with their recommendations, which was basically playground sand, and every single time it's either leaked or has gotten wet and funky. I brought this one out to the range and out to the woods multiple times and it has not only lasted, but also stayed dry.
The two part kit is excellent for making sure that the rifle stays stable while you are trying to scope in. I think well this is slightly more expensive than some of the other, really cheap competitors, the fact that it comes pre-filled actually makes it a great value for the money. By the time you waste your time trying to fill the other ones, it ends up costing you more. Plus, it's an inferior product. So it's absolutely worth the splurge to get a pre-filled bag like this. Overall, I really recommend it.

The Apex Ultra light shooting bag from Buffalo Creek Supplies is aptly named because it's without a doubt, the lightest shooting bag that I've ever used. You could easily throw this into a range backpack or gear bag and never know it was there except for the bulk. It almost weighs nothing. I would have expected such a light weight bag to be flimsy, but it's sturdy, waxed cotton that should be durable for years. The good thing about the waxed cotton material is that it doesn't mar fine wood, but it also provides a somewhat tacky surface to prevent slipping. The size is big enough for a heavy rifle, all while being light weight. At the Amazon price of $109, it's definitely pricey, but whether it's a good value or not will be determined by how much you need a light weight, durable shooting rest.
